Frequently Asked Questions
What is a typical class schedule? Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 7 - 10pm. We ask students to arrive by 6:45pm for praise, prayer, and announcements in the Family Life Center.
Can the courses be taken through distance learning? All courses in the catalog are offered through distance learning (done by study on your own, in your home, at your own pace). They are available at the same cost as the residential with exceptions of some postage and/or flash drive components.
How long is a course? Each 3-credit hour course on the undergraduate level lasts four (4) weeks; 6-credit hour courses are eight weeks in length; a 3-credit hour graduate course lasts six (6) weeks.
What if I need a course not on the schedule? a. If you are advised that your specific program requires additional courses not on the regular schedule, you will need to arrange a course scheduling appointment with the dean to determine your alternatives. b. If you decide that you are not taking a course or if you register for a class and do not attend, it is your responsibility to notify the college office prior to the first session of the course to be taken, otherwise you will be responsible for the book fees.
Is there a dress code or student conduct policy? As Christians, it is our responsibility to reflect the image of Christ in all we do and the conduct of all students should be consistent with this same principle. Modesty, femininity, and good taste are the guiding principles of women’s dress at Faith theological seminary & Christian College, which should be well groomed, clean and neat. Both men and women should avoid wearing shorts and tank tops. Foot covering is required, no bare feet.
Is there a policy about tardiness and attendance? Since a normal 3-credit hour residential course has four three-hour sessions one day a week or twelve contact hours. Notification to the college office or instructor needs to be done within 72 hours of an absence to avoid a deduction in a final grade. Three tardies become one unexcused absence. Special note:Based on established policies, it is the student’s responsibility to notify the college office within 72 hours of an absence. This policy will be strictly enforced, and additional point deductions will be taken from your final grade for failure to comply. Likewise, audiotapes will not be automatically available for unexcused absentees (those that have not notified the main campus office).
